M+B originally set out to discover and expose the work of emerging and established artists while engaging with the ever-evolving nature of photography and its reconsideration as a medium. Embracing a young medium at a critical time led the gallery to expand its program working with artists across a range of mediums.
We continue to promote artists invested in breaking down and reducing the photographic medium to its most basic elements. At the same we engage with artists who address issues of dissemination, reproduction and examine how we socially relate on constantly shifting interfaces. The implications of photography have long since shed their ties to the camera, and the cycling through, flattening out and conflation of images now forms a foundation for new modes of artistic production. As a result, we have expanded our program to include all contemporary modes of artistic production.
